Jam Network
JamNetwork is the University of Waterloo's very own music network, boasting bands from the school's own student body. The club frequently hosts events every school semester, from casual jams to full on-stage concerts. It also hosts a plethora of sub-clubs, all related to connecting over or creating music.
Media, marketing, and design director (jan-apr 2026)
As the MMD Director, my job is anything from designing posters to making calendars and casually posting on the Jam Network Instagram! Since JamNetwork already has some semblance of branding, I'm free to create any materials as long as they somewhat stick with it.
Album concert
Every semester, JamNetwork hosts a concert with a tracklist determined by a specific album. This semester's album was Songs in the Key of Life by Stevie Wonder.
Development
I wanted the poster to contrast JamNetwork's blue and black branding by pulling a lot of orange and white into the poster. This album is a strong deviation from the albums usually picked for the concert, and I really wanted to express that.
Success
While definitely not entirely due to my poster, this semester's album concert exceeded many others in both attendance and profit. The concert itself garnered almost $1000 in ticket sales, and the bands that played enjoyed a full house!
Jamboree
Jamboree is JamNetwork's end-of-term concert that's "too special to be called an EOT concert". Every semester, it's thrown with a different theme and a completely unique setlist. This semester's theme is "A Decade Ago", drawing inspiration from the 2016 (and the years surrounding) aesthetic.
development
The theme itself was ideated by my co-MMD director Phoebe Yang, and she graciously allowed me to create the promotional materials for Jamboree. I was given a visual moodboard and free reign!
